Lootah Perfumes Is at the Centre of an Exciting Chapter in Middle Eastern Fragrance

The Emirati-owned brand has expanded its portfolio with three new creations

There’s no avoiding the attention on regional scent houses right now. Notes like oud and incense aren’t being referenced as unfamiliar or niche anymore, and instead, they’re being recognised and worn.

While that popularity is evident on the internet, particularly on TikTok, where fragrance creators dissect notes and personal collections daily, it’s just as apparent offline. Visits to the UAE increasingly include stops at local perfume boutiques, with bottles chosen thoughtfully, whether as gifts for loved ones back home or additions to your personal collection.

Lootah Perfumes is a longstanding example of these brands. The house traces its roots back to the 1950s, when perfume and incense-making formed part of everyday life within the Lootah family. That knowledge was passed down through generations, eventually taking shape as a formal brand with the opening of its first boutique in 2012. Since then, Lootah Perfumes has grown steadily across the UAE and the wider region, building its identity around Emirati heritage, classic perfumery techniques, and carefully sourced ingredients.

The brand’s latest releases reflect its tenets perfectly.

Lootah Perfumes has introduced three permanent additions to its portfolio: Velvet Dawn, Lava Oud, and Palomino Bukhoor, each tied to a different facet of the house’s work, from fine fragrance to oud and incense.

Velvet Dawn joins the Classic Collection, opening with bergamot and cardamom before moving into a heart of orris and cypress. As it settles, notes of vetiver, tonka, vanilla, and amber come through.

Lava Oud enters the Oud Collection with a deeper profile. Pink pepper, leather, and patchouli lead the opening, followed by cardamom, cade smoke, and tonka. The base brings together oud, sandalwood, and guaiacwood, moving into the smokier side of the category.

The third release, Palomino Bukhoor, reworks one of the brand’s most recognisable scents into an incense for the home. Created using traditional techniques, it draws on Lootah Perfumes’ long-standing relationship with bukhoor and the role of scent in daily life across the region.

Velvet Dawn, Lava Oud, and Palomino Bukhoor are available across Lootah Perfumes boutiques in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, as well as online.
