Loubillusions Galore: Louboutin Unveils Its Spring/Summer 2022 Collection With An Immersive Digital Experience
Getting “phygital” with Louboutin’s Loubillusions
Christian Louboutin is leaping into the future with his latest Spring/Summer 2022 collection – bringing it all to life with Loubillusions, a 360° immersive experience that was unveiled at L’Atelier Des Lumières in Paris earlier today.

The one-of-a-kind venue consists of more than 3,000m² of seamless projections, from the floor up to the 10m-high ceiling, enabling guests to discover the new collection with four distinct immersive animations that will bring Louboutin’s creative visions to life; ranging from a zen Japanese garden to magnificent golden waterfalls and fresh summer water. Loubillusions marks the release of Carasky: a new bag inspired by Christian Louboutin’s passion for gems and crowns as universal symbols of radiance. Adorned with four Cara Spikes, Carasky is available in a variety of different sizes and colours to meet each moment of the day, bringing a touch of opulence to everyday dressing.

Another highlight of the show is the ‘OUR ANGELS’ capsule, which is the Maison’s very first genderless collection of boots and leather goods; designed to celebrate creativity, boldness and authenticity. Paying tribute to the androgynous edge of glam-rock icons, this part of the collection was showcased in a captivating visual art-piece utilising the latest technology of robotics motion control and the magic of CGI, transporting the viewer into a multidimensional space. Over on the main collection, plenty of festive options are released just in time for this year’s holiday season. From colourful jewel-encrusted pumps to laser-cut glow-in-the-dark sandals, there is absolutely no shortage of glamorous edge in this season’s designs.
The ‘PIN UP’ capsule features multiple designs with cheeky and mischievous cartoon pin-up prints created exclusively for Christian Louboutin by artist David Berod aka Doctor Bored.
Another capsule titled the ‘BOOM BOOM’ capsule is just as mischievous, with eye-catching playful, candy-like pieces evoking all the lightness and spontaneity of Spring. Featuring fun metallic leathers and shimmering disco vibes, this capsule is the perfect take on daytime elegance via garden parties and impromptu outdoor gatherings.

To complete the collection, a final capsule titled ‘OR DE SABA’ draws inspiration from the architectural columns of antiquity mixed with African influences. A stunning line to serve as the cherry-on-top, embodying the Maison’s love of unparalleled craftsmanship and passion for the incomparable.
To coincide with the physical showing of the event, the Loubillusions webzine will be available to view online. The webzine – not entirely unlike Bottega Veneta’s digital journals – features a variety of animations mixed with collages and close-ups of the designs, some of which will be accessible to experience through Augmented Reality, allowing for an in-depth look at the details and fabrics.
