Meet the Two-Seater That Feels Like a Piece of Designer Jewellery, But on Wheels
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series headlines a luxe takeover at La Cantine Beach
The right jewellery can make even a casual outfit feel curated. The right car can curate your entire lifestyle as a statement piece that you can drive. And if you’re the kind of person who knows your favourite jeweller by name, keeps a shortlist of tailors on your phone, and sizes up a handbag by its stitching, you don’t need your car to shout for attention. You don’t seek to be loud — you seek to be exceptional. The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is created for this very sensibility: effortlessly distinctive, and uniquely iconic.

It’s the first open-top two-seater in the Mercedes-Maybach line-up, and while the brand calls it their sportiest model yet, it feels more refined than rowdy. You notice the craftsmanship first, with the illuminated chrome grille, the upright bonnet star, and the rose-gold details tucked into the headlights.
The crystal-white MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather inside gives the cabin a fresh, elegant look, while silver-chrome accents add just enough shine. Maybach’s signature quilting shows up in a way that feels modern rather than ornate. It’s comfortable, it’s sophisticated, and it feels like a space where you could easily decompress after a long day, or go on a long drive for the weekend.

And while beauty is important, capability matters too. The SL 680 Monogram Series runs on a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine paired with a 9G-TRONIC transmission. Rear-axle steering makes the handling feel smooth and intuitive, whether you’re navigating city streets or heading out for a weekend drive.
To introduce the car to the region, Mercedes-Maybach hosted its Middle East premiere at La Cantine Beach on Bluewaters Island. On November 11, the venue brought together clients and guests for an evening hosted by entrepreneur and model Jessica Kahawaty, with Jonas Blue providing an exclusive DJ performance.

For anyone who wants to explore the entire world of Mercedes-Maybach, the brand has taken over La Cantine Beach until December 23 2025. Expect design installations, the full line-up on display, MAYBACH Icons of Luxury pieces, test drives, and even a dedicated Maybach menu.
The SL 680 Monogram Series isn’t trying to redefine your life. It simply elevates the experience — just like a gorgeous pair of statement earrings would do to your wardrobe.
