Miley Cyrus Brings Back Chunky Diamonds With Her Engagement Announcement
Dome-shaped dazzling rings take over as new the bridal style for 2026
Confirming her engagement to long-time partner Maxx Morando, Miley Cyrus is officially off the market. As she rested her hand on Maxx’s chest at the Hollywood premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 1, Cyrus showed off her new chunky yellow gold engagement ring worn on her ring finger – instantly setting social media on fire.

Cyrus spoke about her relationship, their deep affection, and shared humour in the December 2024/January 2025 cover story for Harper’s Bazaar US. She stated that Morando “looks at life really differently than I do,” while affirming, “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously.” Despite a six-year age difference, the couple started dating in 2021, after being set up on a blind date.

A new jewellery trend is now the focal point of their engagement: big, bold diamonds housed in a sizeable rub-over bombé style setting. The chunky gold band with a four- or five-carat cushion-cut diamond holds the diamond east to west, a far cry from a standard round solitaire stone. Jacquie Aiche, a Los Angeles-based jeweller of Egyptian and American Indian descent, is the designer of the custom-made ring, which feels like a fresh combination of classic, modern, and bridal design codes.
