Miss Mexico Is Crowned Miss Universe 2025
Hailing from Tabasco, Fatima Bosch is the first woman from her state to win Miss Universe Mexico and has now been bestowed with the ultimate accolade in pageantry
Fatima Bosch of Mexico has claimed the Miss Universe 2025 crown today, a dramatic finale to the year’s most major beauty pageant. After controversy surrounding Fatima being scolded by a pageant director earlier in the competition series, which resulted in her walking out from a live-streamed meeting – joined in solidarity by some of her fellow competitors – the 25-year old was somewhat of a surprise victor.

Fatima was crowned by Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, while runners up in the 74th edition of the competition included Thailand’s Praveenar Singh, followed by Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, and Ivory Coast’s Olivia Yacé.
Hosted in Thailand this year, the pageant still commands millions of viewers around the world and features candidates from 120 countries. Nadeen Ayoub, who collaborated with Huda Beauty on her make-up looks, was the first woman to represent Palestine at the pageant, and made it to the final 30 contestants before her elimination.
From questions about global issues that they would like to raise with the United Nations General Assembly, to how they would empower the younger generation – and even a national dress round – the competition continues to put entrants through their paces. Now, Fatima will embark on her year-long reign, before the competition celebrates its 75th edition in Puerto Rico next year.
