Barbie Movie Not Banned in The UAE: New Release Date Announced
After weeks of speculation, the Media Regulatory Office has reportedly confirmed the film will be screened in cinemas
Barbie fans, rejoice! It’s looking like you will be able to watch the film here in the UAE.
Yesterday evening The Media Regulatory Office confirmed the film will be screening here in the UAE. According to Khaleej Times and Lovin’ Dubai, Barbie will show in cinemas “…according to standards of media content and age classification approved by the emirates media council.”
The news comes after weeks of speculation that the film had been banned in the UAE after its initial release date was pushed back to August 31st.
There is still no official confirmation on whether the film will hit theatres in Saudi Arabia.
Barbie has already been banned by a number of countries, including Vietnam, for the inclusion of a map that shares ‘disputed Chinese territorial claims in the South China Sea.’

At the movement, it appears tickets are not yet on sale.
While the Vox website does have a web page where the trailer is embedded it seems that fans will have to wait a little longer before planning their trip to the cinema.
When Will Barbie be released in the UAE?
Vox’s website confirms the release date of Barbie in the UAE will be on Thursday, August 10th. Tickets can now be purchased online at uae.voxcinemas.com
