Not Your Mother’s Holiday Wardrobe: A Lesson in Nostalgia-Inspired Festive Dressing

In a world where rhythm and sound take centre stage, Harvey Nichols Dubai unveils ‘The Art of Dressing Up’ campaign, inspiring those of us to look to the past when stepping out during this special time of year

Aptly named ‘The Art of Dressing Up’, Harvey Nichols Dubai’s latest campaign invites us into a dreamscape where rhythm and sound inspire the season’s looks with bursts of zingy colours, irresistible sparkle and high watt fashion.

The festive season provides the perfect excuse to play dress-up, a feeling which is echoed throughout its latest womenswear collection. Channeling the season’s penchant for midi lengths and princess-like glamour, Acler and Molly Goddard throw dreamy, otherworldly dresses into the mix in a colour palette that feels refreshingly skewed; expanding on the festive curation and offering 1920s-meets-1980s opulence, is sleek tailoring from Dolce & Gabbana where sequins are heavily featured.

Meanwhile, loungewear is given a luxe yet edgy treatment with endlessly flattering knits and vibrantly printed silks from Casablanca, which are equally fabulous for evenings spent out.

Adding that extra pizzazz are classic chain styles in timeless washes of gold and silver from CZ by Kenneth Jay Lane and Chloé along with statement pieces from Dolce & Gabbana and oversized earrings from Alexandra Rich.

In an ode to the season, footwear from cult favourites like By Far and Aquazzura features the festive factor with glittering leather and disco ball heels. While diamanté-detailed Mach & Mach and glamour-filled The Attico, still hold their righteous place as night-out must-haves. Alexander Wang embellishes classic footwear styles with feather trims while A.W.A.K.E Mode brightens things up with acid greens and a ton of fringe. Paris Texas knee-high boots in statement leather and suede, spotlight tremendously with hemlines that fall midway between the ankle and knee.

The festive collection is now available to shop in-store at Harvey Nichols – Dubai.
