Dubai’s Got Some New Bling

Monaco’s cult-favourite jewellery house stakes its claim in the Middle East with a space designed for the curious and the connoisseur

There’s a new jewel trove inside Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, where sunlight glints off diamond crocodile scales, creating prismatic rays so sharp they could slice through the desert heat. ORLOV is debuting in the City of Gold, with their first Dubai boutique opening its doors on March 14 – and it’s about to rewrite the rules of Middle Eastern luxury.

Since 2011, Angela and Christian Orlov have been turning nature’s raw edge into wearable art – zebra stripes, fluid organic forms that ripple like mirages, and gemstones set with a craftsman’s precision in Italian ateliers. Monaco’s boldest jewellery house isn’t here to play it safe because now, they’re bringing that signature unapologetic flair to a city that thrives on bold statements. “Dubai is an epicenter of luxury and artistry,” says Angela Orlova, creative director and co-founder. “This makes it the perfect home for our first dedicated space in the region.”

You’ll find the brand’s full arsenal at the new store, from timeless high jewellery to custom pieces for clients who really want to shine bright (like a diamond, or Rihanna, a fan of the brand).

ORLOV’s vision is a crossroads where tradition meets innovation – the ideal stage for jewellery that tells a story. That narrative often begins with historical references, notably the crocodile in Ernest Barrias’ 19th-century sculpture Les Nubiens, which symbolises the resilience and transformation inherent to the brand’s creations, which regularly feature the crocodile motif.

This launch is exciting, even for a region accustomed to being draped in all sorts of finery. And for a jewellery house that aims to not only adorn but also inspire, there’s no better playground.
