Polly Pocket Gets An 18-Karat Gold Makeover: Nadine Ghosn And Mattel Launch A New Jewellery Collection

Celebrating Mattel’s 80th anniversary, Polly Pocket returns 42 years later, bedecked in diamonds and precious gems

Millennials rejoice. What first began as a childhood phenomenon in the 1980s has been transformed into jewels we can’t resist by Nadine Ghosn, once more using her craft to turn joyful nostalgia into the most precious pieces. “Polly Pocket was my favourite toy when I was a child. I imagined different worlds and scenarios, creating my own neighbourhood with unique compacts that highlighted the variety that can be created in a given space. This boundless creativity has stayed with me and resurfaced when I created my own sanctuary,” says the Lebanese designer.

Honouring Mattel’s 80-year legacy, the collection reimagines the tiny pint-sized Polly in precious gems and diamonds, with three new designs: the Polly Pocket Pendant, Mismatched Earrings, and Compact Combo Necklace.

Polly Pocket Pendant

Capturing the charm of Polly Pocket through refined craftsmanship, the pendant is cast in 18k gold and adorned with pink sapphires and white diamonds. From the intricate detailing on the dress to her polished shoes, this miniature creation mirrors the iconic doll through exquisite artistry. The pendants are customisable to reflect personal characteristics.

Mismatched Earrings

Through playful asymmetry, the 18k gold Polly earrings are carefully designed to complement eachother with their pink sapphires, rubies, and diamonds. Secured with a clasp, they are packaged in the signature purple heart box.

Compact Combo Necklace

The necklace features a sequence of 18k gold charms – ranging from shells, clovers, stars, hearts, and orbs – that join together with a central pavé sapphire heart engraved with ‘Polly Pocket’.
