Prince William to Return to Public Duties

After his wife’s emotional cancer statement, Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know about The Prince’s return to the public eye

The Prince of Wales is set to make his first public appearance after the Princess of Wales’s shocking cancer announcement. William will return to his royal duties on Thursday, visiting Surrey and West London to highlight the impactful work of community and environmental organisations in the area.

This marks Prince William’s first engagement since the Princess of Wales’s candid revelation last month that she is undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” treatment, after medical professionals discovered cancer in a planned abdominal surgery.

Prince William’s Return

The 41-year-old Prince will visit Surplus to Supper, a food redistribution charity, where he’ll assist members of the organisation in sorting and redistributing food to those in need. He will also be visiting a Youth Centre in London which benefits from Surplus and Supper’s deliveries, to underscore the life-changing impact of such organisations.

First family outing since Kate’s cancer announcement

The family did not attend the annual Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle this year, which was a concerning sign given their lively attendance last year.

However, last week, Prince William and his eldest son, Prince George, were seen attending an Aston Villa football game together. This marks their first public outgoing since the Princess’s announcement.

Whilst William has not individually addressed his wife’s condition publicly, in her video statement, the Princess stated “William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.” She also explained that they are currently focusing on spending quality time with their children.
