UAE Authority Issues Circular Regarding Reduced Timings For Government Employees
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has issued a notice specifying the official working hours for federal government employees during Ramadan.
The Islamic holy month will see all ministries and federal entities operating from 9am to 2.30pm from Monday to Thursday, and for three hours from 9am to 12pm on Fridays.

The body also confirmed that government offices may continue to implement flexible working policies during the month, ensuring they align with the required daily office hours.
Also, employees may log in remotely on Fridays, with a cap where up to 70 percent of an entity’s workforce can carry out their duties from home, according to approved regulations.
When does Ramadan 2024 start in the UAE, KSA, and GCC? When will confirmed dates be announced?
According to various sources, Ramadan 2024 is expected to start on Monday, March 11, or Tuesday, March 12, 2024 for many GCC countries including the UAE.
Back on February 10, the UAE’s International Astronomy Center announced the sighting of the Sha’ban crescent moon, which usually means Ramadan is four weeks away from that date.
The official start date of Ramadan is typically announced when countries’ respective moon sighting committees (which are made up of religious leaders and astronomers) spot the crescent moon, which marks the beginning of the Holy Month — meaning an official announcement for the start of Ramadan 2024 won’t be revealed until closer to the dates of March 9, 2024 or March 10.
