How Long Will The Work Day Be in KSA?

Public sector employees in Saudi Arabia will be working for 5 hours a day, from 10am till 3pm.

The Ministry of Education in the kingdom also announced the official working hours during Ramadan 2024 and reduced the school hours to five hours a day, commencing from 10am and concluding at 3pm.

How Long Will The Work Day Be in Qatar?

His Excellency Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, issued a circular determining office hours during Ramadan for public institutions.

Employees from these entities would work five hours a day, starting from 9am until 2pm.

Employees may be permitted late attendance up to 10am at the latest, provided that they fulfil work requirements and complete the duration they are required to.

The remote work system will be applied during the holy month, with a maximum of 30 percent of the total number of employees allowed to work remotely.

Qatari mothers and individuals with disabilities are prioritised without compromising the needs of the organisation. The Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Education will determine suitable working hours for the health and education sectors, aligning with the nature of the job.

Private sector working hours will be announced by the companies’ respective HR.

When does Ramadan 2024 start in the KSA, Qatar and GCC? When will confirmed dates be announced?

According to various sources, Ramadan 2024 is expected to start on Monday, March 11, or Tuesday, March 12, 2024 for many GCC countries including the UAE.

Back on February 10, the UAE’s International Astronomy Center announced the sighting of the Sha’ban crescent moon, which usually means Ramadan is four weeks away from that date.

The official start date of Ramadan is typically announced when countries’ respective moon sighting committees (which are made up of religious leaders and astronomers) spot the crescent moon, which marks the beginning of the Holy Month — meaning an official announcement for the start of Ramadan 2024 won’t be revealed until closer to the dates of March 9, 2024 or March 10
