Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney To Open And Close Riyadh Fashion Week
The third edition of Riyadh Fashion Week is set to be bigger and better than ever before
Riyadh Fashion Week returns this week with its most ambitious and expansive edition yet — a five-day celebration of style that will unfold through more than 30 runway shows and presentations, opening with Vivienne Westwood and culminating in a showstopping finish by Stella McCartney. Industry insiders are expecting a Vivienne Westwood showcase specially designed for the occasion, heralding traditional Saudi craftsmanship, while Stella McCartney will be making her debut in the region by rounding off the week’s shows.
This bold evolution marks a pivotal chapter in the fashion week’s trajectory. Since its inaugural edition in 2023, Riyadh has swiftly carved out its place on the global fashion map, becoming a vital cultural hub in the Middle East’s sartorial narrative. The scale of this year’s program reflects its momentum, signalling Saudi Arabia’s rising influence in shaping the future of fashion and knocking on the door of a still largely Euro-centric show schedule.
Industry insiders are gearing up for a flurry of presentations and shows – the collection presentations will be held from October 16 to October 20 at Mandarin Oriental; while runway shows will take place across the capital. The third edition of the show season is set to present regional names including Waad AlOqaili, Ashwaq AlMarshad, Leem, Arwa Albanawi, Razan AlAzzouni, Mona AlShebil and Reem AlKanhal, and many, many more.
