R’Kan Edition’s Latest Collection Offers The Ultimate Escape into Nature
Inspired by the wonders of the natural world, R’Kan Edition’s chic collection of accent tables, stools and cabinets will add a touch of organic elegance to any space
If you’re an interiors junkie, then R’kan Edition is a one-stop shop for both inspiration and expert execution – founded by head designer Rania Fahmy, the business specialises in unique functional art pieces, collaborative partnerships with artists and artisans, as well as offering interior design consultation and art concepts and installation services. Rania masterminds every element of the business, conceiving each piece herself and steering her clients on how to integrate her designs into any space.

Driven by the mantra ‘where art meets functionality’ Rania makes it her mission to elevate your surroundings, and firmly believes that transformation is always within reach. The brand’s latest triumph? Its Escape to Nature collection, which rethinks the dynamic between furniture and the natural world, imagining our everyday pieces as sculptural works of art. Cabinets, stools, coffee tables, and consoles take cues from the textures, forms, and rhythms of the external environment, reimagining the curvature of leaves or the structure of insect shells in playful and unexpected ways.
Among the standout designs is the whimsical Beetle cabinet, inspired by the works of Cairo-based mixed media artist and fashion designer Farah Wali. Known for her daring, wearable art, Wali’s influence shines through in this sculptural piece, reinterpreted by Rania to striking effect. Its luminescent mother-of-pearl inlays contrast with a raw and matte hammered brass base, making it both a functional piece and a conversation starter. Another highlight, the Eternity stool, channels the scarab beetle, an enduring symbol of life’s cycles in ancient Egypt reframed in contemporary design form. Carved from solid wood with fluid, tentacle-like legs, the stool balances form, fun and utility.

A firm favourite among interior design connoisseurs is the Dragonfly coffee table, with its art deco-inspired lines and a material palette that draws from nature, connecting marble and wood to brass. The table captures the structure of a dragonfly’s wings while grounding its design in natural materials. Pieces like the Natura console – inspired by the renowned artist Adel Mostafa – with its layered green foliage motifs and brass accents, and the Tabla coffee table, inspired by Egyptian drum traditions, reinterpret the region’s natural beauty through a lens of its cultural history.
Rania advises her clients not to be afraid to take an eclectic approach when perusing the collection – marry antique wood accents, brass embellishments, art deco-inspired wallpaper, and plush furnishings to create a curated, layered space that feels timeless yet contemporary. And if you’re really stumped? You can always let Rania and her team enter your space and work their magic themselves.
