Gucci Announces The End Of Its Collaboration With Creative Director Sabato De Sarno

The designer is leaving the maison after two years at the helm

Italian powerhouse Gucci has announced today that the maison’s F/W25 show will be the last under the creative direction of Sabato De Sarno. A new artistic director is yet to be announced, but the label’s next collection to be shown in Milan on February 25 will be presented by the Gucci design office.

“I would like to express my deep gratitude to Sabato for his passion and dedication to Gucci,” said Stefano Cantino, CEO of Gucci. “I sincerely appreciate how he honoured Gucci’s craftsmanship and heritage with such commitment.”

“I sincerely thank Sabato for his loyalty and professionalism. I am proud of the work that has been done to further strengthen Gucci’s fundamentals,” said Francesca Bellettini, Kering Deputy CEO in charge of brand development. “

Sabato first joined Gucci in 2023, following his tenure at Valentino where he had overseen men’s and women’s collections as fashion director. Prior to Valentino, which he joined in 2009, the designer had worked for Dolce & Gabbana and Prada, leaving industry insiders wondering which of the Italian behemoth brands might be moving to next.
