Saudi Arabia To Host The 2034 FIFA World Cup
The decision comes after Football Australia refrained from bidding
In October of this year, FIFA, the global football governing body, extended an invitation to nations in Asia and Oceania to submit their proposals for hosting the 2034 Men’s World Cup. The submission deadline for bids was set for October 31.
Just hours before the deadline, Football Australia decided not to bid and confirmed that it would instead be focusing on bids for hosting the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup and the 2029 Club World Cup, resulting in the victory of Saudi Arabia which was the only remaining country to have bid.

As outlined on the Saudi Arabia Football Federation’s official website, the country has hosted more than 50 international events for men and women athletes, from football to motorsports and many more. The United States, Mexico and Canada will host the 2026 World Cup, while the 2030 tournament will be held across major contending cities in Europe, Africa and South America, including Morocco, Portugal and Spain.
This is not the first time that such a monumental football match will be taking place in the region. Last year, Doha hosted the FIFA World Cup 2022, drawing fans and teams from around the world to witness the pinnacle of international football competition.
