The Middle East is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship across all creative pursuits, but Saudi Arabia offers an especially talented clutch of fine jewellery designers who reference their heritage while pushing the boundaries of ingenuity and innovation, creating ultra-special and symbolic collections.

Here, Bazaar Arabia rounds up some of the KSA’s chicest designers channelling contemporary classicism…

NADINE

Nadine Attar founded her brand NADINE in 2018, drawing her inspiration from the colours of nature, spirituality and culture. She is especially attracted to the uniqueness of all natural gemstones and, through her brand, she aims to accentuate a sense of individuality for each and every one of her clients.

AJ Jewelry

Born out of a love for art, gifting and creativity, AJ Jewelry was established in 2015 by sisters Alanoud and Aljazi Althunayan. Their aim is to craft pieces that are unconventional and modern, with a playful element incorporated into the mix. Stacking, mixing and matching is all encouraged as the sisters bring a fresh perspective in styling jewellery – in line with how the next generation prefers to wear their gems.

Dalal Jewellery

Founded by Abeer Al Saeed, Dalal Jewellery is named after the founder’s mother, and features an array of delicate gold designs with intricate details and innovative silhouettes. Abeer was certified as a jeweller in 2016, and launched her brand in Riyadh in 2017. A stand-out piece? Rings from the ‘Mother’s Love’ collection feature a spinning natural gemstone that can rotate 360 degrees – representing a mother’s love, which will surround a child their whole life.

Nuun Jewels

HRH Princess Nourah Alfaisal Alsaud has taken an artistic, experimental yet supremely luxurious approach to her collections, combining modern edge with femininity. “It is at home, in Riyadh, that the colours, the pinks and the golds of the setting sun, the rich scents, such as omnipresent cardamom, and the geometric patterns such as those used in traditional architecture still pervade today,” she shares on her brand, Nuun Jewels’, website.

Haneen Saber Jewellery

Inspired by Islamic history and her love for different cultures, Haneen Saber launched her debut collection in 2017 with wearable art pieces that represent both the past and future of the Kingdom’s rich heritage. Haneen draws on her history of art and architecture studies, and her time spent in Florence, to inform her collections, blending the traditional with the modern. She draws upon Islamic heritage too, crafting jewels in old Arabic font that make the perfect gift for loved ones.

Sedra Jewellery

Sheen Jewellery

Founded in 2013 by Nosheen Bakhsh, a Saudi designer with Kashmiri roots, Sheen Jewellery has been built on a principal of adding a human touch to elegant design codes. Incorporating local culture into the narrative of its collections, Sheen aims to serve as a tangible expression for something greater: driving awareness surrounding social issues through humanitarian causes. The ethos behind the brand is to do good; a percentage of all sales are donated to PCRF, an organization that provides humanitarian aid and care for children in Gaza.
