
Art With Bazaar: How The Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization’s Current Exhibition Explores The Role of Water in Islam
With over 120 artefacts to discover, ‘Drop by Drop Life Falls from the Sky. Water, Islam and Art’ is an intimate exploration of the relationship between Islam and water, from its earliest roots to its numerous developments.
On this episode of Art with Bazaar Editor of Collectables, Ayesha S. Shehmir, visits Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization to view the current exhibition ‘Drop by Drop Life Falls from the Sky. Water, Islam and Art’. With over 120 artefacts to discover, the exhibition is an intimate exploration of the relationship between Islam and water, from its earliest roots to its numerous developments.
The objects on loan have travelled from 16 prestigious Italian public and private collections, as well as from the collections of Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization and Sharjah Art Museum. The show is held together with Italy’s Fondazione Torino Musei – marking the very first collaboration between Sharjah and Turin.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, ‘Drop by Drop Life Falls from the Sky. Water, Islam and Art’ is on view until December 11, 2021 at Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization.
