Sky’s The Limit
From peerless properties to a once-in-a-lifetime event in Portofino, Omniyat is redefining the concept of luxury
The idea of luxury is changing. Whilst traditional notions of value and exclusivity still exist, our understanding has shifted to include more philosophical concepts, such as time and how we spend it. For many, luxury is no longer just about amassing precious things but in enjoying once-in-a-lifetime experiences and collecting tangible memories. Cue Omniyat, a developer with a vision beyond property and place, and an ethos, ‘The Art of Elevation’, which espouses its commitment to elevating and enriching the lives of its audiences. It’s an ideology that plays out in its properties – from The Opus, designed by legendary architect Zaha Hadid, and the record-breaking One at Palm Jumeirah, to those that transcend tradition and offer a redefining take on ultra-luxury, such as Dubai’s ORLA and ORLA Infinity, Dorchester Collection, and The Lana and Lana Residences, Dorchester Collection.

Established in 2005 by Founder and Executive Chairman Mahdi Amjad, Omniyat works with leading talent across design, architecture, and hospitality to deliver a unique take on curated living — creating a gulf between what may once have been considered as luxury and the potential afforded by Omniyat’s boundary-pushing embrace of what luxury can be; going beyond artistic frontiers and delving into the realms of human experience itself.

It’s an appreciation that manifested itself in the recent Omniyat Summer Collection by Big Art Festival, a series of events staged in some of the world’s most glamorous and exclusive Mediterranean destinations, from Capri and Monaco, to Forto Dei Marmi and Porto Cervo. Combining leading musical talent, five star locations, and intimate audiences, the events are designed to offer something truly unique to invited guests.

For its latest event, Omniyat travelled to Portofino to welcome globally renowned Maestro Andrea Bocelli to the terrace of the Belmond Hotel Splendido. Over the course of an unforgettable gala evening, guests enjoyed an elevated gastronomic offering featuring caviar and lobster served against one of Italy’s most iconic backdrops. In the company of a ninety-person audience, drawn from around the globe, Bocelli’s performance felt intimate; more akin to a personal dialogue than a concert, an amazing feat given his status as a musical legend. From Time to Say Goodbye to Turandot‘s Nessun dorma, Mamma, and Love in Portofino, given special meaning performed in the eponymous location, the evening proved both elegant and emotional; testament to Omniyat’s re-envisioning of luxury.
