Henna, an ancient art form that has transcended centuries, remains a cherished cultural tradition in the region

Azra Khamissa‘s impeccable artistry has earned her commissions by some of fashion’s biggest names, from Gucci to Bulgari, Adidas and so many more. The Dubai-based creative shows contemporary flair, and includes fun twists on many of her designs.

In 2020, she released her own henna-making kit and her henna and stencils can be bought online if you’re keen to learn the ancient art yourself. More recently, Azra recently published a step-by-step guide book to her designs, entitled The Henna Archive.

Sayeda Nisa

Sayeda Nisa is a Dubai-based henna artist who has worked with various beauty brands to showcase her extraordinary artistry, with commissions by NYX, KVD, Charlotte Tilbury and KAYALI.

Safa Munafer

Safa Munafer, the founder of Dubai Henna, the UAE’s first online organic henna shop, started her venture after noticing so many places offering non-organic ingredients in artificial henna. Dubai Henna has grown to become one of the city’s most successful henna parlours, providing a variety of services for all occasions.

Yorana Henna 

Riyadh-based Yorana Henna, has worked with luxury brands such as Chaumet and Lancôme. She specializes in various forms of henna- Jagua (organic black henna), white henna, and beautiful Arabic calligraphy.

Sona Suthar

Sona Suthar is an India-based henna artist but travels the world for international commissions. Her intricate henna designs are extremely detailed and each artwork tells a story. The artist has collaborated with popular Indian luxury brand, TORANI, on an advertising campaign where her work is beautifully highlighted.
