The Art Of Wishing: Omniyat’s Artistic Initiative Explored Meaning and Giving During Ramadan
Omniyat’s The Art of Wishes transformed creativity into a platform for giving and good during the Holy Month
During Ramadan, at High Society in The Lana, Dorchester Collection, members of the art community, collectors, cultural voices, partners, and media gathered for a suhoor to mark the debut of The Art of Wishes – an artistic initiative grounded in the spirit of giving. From curated artworks to celebrated craftsmanship, the experience brought together a selection of pieces that reflected a sense of community and purpose.

Spanning contemporary art and calligraphy, to jewellery and design, each work carried a distinct narrative – rooted in heritage, tradition, and identity. More than just an exhibit of exceptional talent, the initiative also served as an act of contribution, supporting the Al Jalila Foundation. Established in 2013 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, the foundation advances healthcare through initiatives across cancer care, paediatrics and rare diseases, while also fostering the next generation of Emirati medical professionals.
Participating artists included Emirati jewellery designer Adi Alfaradan, Saudi artist Alawiya Al-Zawawi, multidisciplinary artist and product designer Azza Al Qubaissi, Emirati contemporary artist Fatma Lootah, calligraphist Karim Jababri, Saudi fashion designer Mashael Albogami, Lebanese fashion designer Rami Kadi, and Sara Alharbali’s Dubai-based luxury design studio, Tajrid Studio – each sharing works that championed the true essence of the holy month through the themes of meaningful connection, generosity, and reflection.

Mahdi Amjad, Founder and Executive Chairman of Omniyat said: “Ramadan is not only a time of spirituality and generosity, but a moment that calls for conscious responsibility to reflect on our blessings, and to extend their impact to those who need it most. Under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, Dubai has set a standard for compassion and shared responsibility through initiatives such as the Jalila Foundation. Our vision for The Art of Wishes was to amplify this sentiment through artistic creativity and give back to the city and community which has given us all so much, a place where progress and humanity move forward together.”

Dr Amer Al Zarooni, Chief Executive officer, Al Jalila Foundation added: “We are grateful to Omniyat for hosting the art of wishes to support Al Jalila Foundation’s life-transforming programmes, and to the incredible artists who donated their bespoke creations.”
By uniting art, community, and philanthropy, The Art of Wishes reflects a broader cultural shift – one where creativity becomes a vehicle for enduring impact, and a reminder that giving can take many forms.
