The Ones To Watch: Introducing Dubai’s New It Girl…

What to do, see and shop — plus where to get glammed up — this December 2022…

From happy fashion to a pioneering beauty product, here’s what’s on Bazaar Arabia’s “The Ones To Watch” List this month…

Girl On Fire

DJ, events planner, style maven – whatever hat Sarah Hardan is wearing, she’s the new force to be reckoned with in Dubai right now. The former beauty PR has been behind many of the city’s style-studded parties this season with her event-planning company The Good Trip, which she co-founded with her husband. Her Instagram, meanwhile, is a treasure trove of her perfectly executed bohemian style and her beautifully designed home. Unique and unexpected, Sarah has style that we’re ready to be influenced by.

Beauty’s New Buzzword

Did you know you have skin ligaments in your face? We didn’t either. The clever folk at
La Prairie, however, have devoted months of research and development into these dermatological structural pillars. The result is their groundbreaking first-ever serum that supports weakened ligaments, combats sagging and improves facial definition. While this may be the first time you’ve heard of skin ligaments, we suspect this won’t be last time you will be reading about this breakthrough area of skin science.

Bright Is Alright

Just when we thought Sleiman Dayaa couldn’t add any more notches to his already full belt, he expands his repertoire with a fashion collection. After cutting his teeth in visual merchandising for the likes of YSL and Roberto Cavalli, the stylist/magazine founder/creative director/designer showcased his debut SS23 collection of second-skin dresses, leggings, crop tops and fringe twinsets in a wash of cobalt blues and highlighter hues at this season’s Arab Fashion Week. The Lebanese creative plans to collaborate with designers to launch capsule collections every season.

Fashion’s Feel Good Season

We’re heading into ‘resort’ season, which could mean many things to many different wardrobes: a holiday in the Maldives, snow bunnies on the slopes, party planning… Regardless of the dress code, this is the time of year when fashion has the most fun. It’s a little more frivolous, a little less serious and a whole lotta happy. Thankfully collections are dripping in rainbow stripes, tropical blooms, tie-dye and pleasing colour palettes to make our souls sing.

The Era Of Reinvention

One of the few positives to come out of the pandemic was the chance for some of us to pause, take a step back and reassess our career paths. Renowned Dubai make-up artist Sharon Drugan cleverly spotted an opportunity and has launched a stylish new make-up studio where she will impart her expertise to aspiring make-up artists of all ability levels in a series of classes. Whether it’s a new hobby or a genuine career switch, Sharon has the talent to help you re-skill and rule.
