Tod’s X MyTheresa Host a Once-in-a-Lifetime Italian Extravaganza
Tod’s and MyTheresa showcase the best of Milan to celebrate the launch of their capsule exclusive collection
Covetable private box seats to view the ballet La Dame aux Camélias at Teatro alla Scala. Aperitivo at Camparino overlooking the Piazza del Duomo. An intimate dinner at a secret top-floor foyer, plus a private tour of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. And to top it all off, a visit to the Tod’s boutique in the heart of Milan, followed by celebrity chef Da Vittorio conjuring up lunch inside the 16th century Palazzo Marino.
These were the once-in-a-lifetime experiences organised for a select group of tastemakers and fashion influencers – that included Kelly Rutherford, Isabella Ferrari, Hodan Yousuf, Sadiq Desh and Jihoon Kim – by Tod’s and Mytheresa to celebrate their long-standing relationship, as well as the launch of their exclusive capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2025.

Hosted by Diego Della Valle, Chairman of Tod’s Group, John Galantic, CEO of Tod’s Group and Mytheresa, the two-day extravaganza showcased the best the Italian city had to offer, with a trip to see artisans creating the signature Gommino driving shoe at the Via Montenapoleone flagship store, a notable highlight.

When asked why experiences like these were so painstakingly curated, Richard Johnson, CCO of Mytheresa told Bazaar Arabia, “Storytelling in luxury is intrinsic, clients want to learn more about a brand or designer’s values and understand whether they resonate with them personally – in this way, the connection between the brand and the customer goes well beyond just the product.”

After seeing the artisans at work, he added, “Luxury requires an emotional engagement. In the case of Tod’s this speaks to the craftsmanship of the products, the meticulous hand production of their items and quality of the materials employed which are timeless values that have only become more desired in an age of mass production and consumption. It also highlights the company’s links and investment with Italian culture through preservation and restoration of cultural institutions such as La Scala where we celebrated.”
Pieces only available at the luxury shopping site include a chic velvet blazer with sharp black lapels that comes with matching flared trousers, bejeweled ballet flats and a Di Bag Folio leather shopper that’ll become indispensable once you realise it evokes Mary Poppins’ bag with its ability to hold all your life’s essentials. The real fashion editor pick? Gommino shearling moccasins tactile enough to stroke.
