While there are a few days on the calendar for the rest of 2024 to bookmark for this year, we’ve also compiled a list of 2025’s expected private and public sector holiday dates for UAE residents.

UAE Public and Private Sector Holidays in 2024: What Days Are Left?
Is the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday a public and private sector holiday in the UAE?
The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Birthday is listed as one of the UAE official holidays. This year it will fall on 2 Rabi’ Awwal 1446 AH – which is expected to be Sunday, September 15th, 2024.
In the past, when holidays fall on the weekend (such as with Islamic New Year, which took place on Saturday, July 6 through to Sunday, July 7), residents have not received an extra day off during the work week.

Therefore residents will need to wait to find out whether we’ll have the day off work.
When is the next public and private sector holiday in the UAE in 2024?
After the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Birthday, the next confirmed public and private sector holiday will be National Day long weekend.
The UAE government has revealed that December 2nd and 3rd, 2024 will be a holiday for all residents for UAE Union Day, meaning we’ll need to wait until the last month of the year before having another break before the end of the year.
While it’s worth noting UAE holidays are subject to the moon sighting, Bazaar Arabia shares a full list of when we can expect to have some time off work next year…
