A Glimpse Into Bazaar Arabia‘s discussion with VAARA Founder Tatiana Korsakova
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (HBA): In five years time, what do you wish to achieve?
Tatiana: My life credo: Less is more when less can be more if it’s truly perfect, without taking the shortcuts. I’m an alfa maximalist referring to my professional goals – no compromise, as every step I take is for the best: The best team, the best quality, the best partners, and as a result, the best for the customers. I prefer
actions as they speak louder than words, so we’ll meet again in 5 years and celebrate one more big chapter. For example, I’d love to open spas and clinics where my supporters can enjoy the best services and treatments. In general, my goal is to build a transformative kind of company: educational, inspiring and stereotype-breaking.
HBA: You lead such a hectic lifestyle – how do you find balance or equilibrium?
Tatiana: I’ve noticed so many changes in my life that came from meditation. Having three kids and travelling can be so hectic – so making sure that I have some time for meditation is super important to me, and just making time for myself in general. Every single day, just sit down with yourself and check in: How do you feel? Is there something that’s bothering you? Is there something you’d like to improve? Just sit down in solitude, tap yourself on the shoulder, and say that everything will be fine as it’s all in your beautiful soul and hands.

HBA: It’s time for a quick fire round. High heels or trainers/sneakers?
Tatiana: Heels.
HBA: Monochrome or lots of colour?
Tatiana: It depends on the case, but monochrome is definitely more chic.

HBA: The accessory you love at the moment?
Tatiana: I love jewellery because you can dress up or dress down any jewellery piece and change your mood and outfit with just one detail.
HBA: What is next on your shopping list?
Tatiana. Good question. I do have a dress in mind after attending the recent Paris Haute Couture show. The dress that I really loved was by Valentino.

HBA: The biggest celebrity you ever met?
Tatiana: There are so many incredible women out there, and in fact, there is one supermodel who I’ve recently worked with – and she’s the face of our new VAARA campaign (her name to be released worldwide in March).

HBA: Who would you like to see wearing VAARA?
Tatiana: My dream is to see VAARA on as many girls as possible because I really do believe in the brand. It’s not about the celebrities; the products are amazing and all women deserve to wear VAARA because it’s perfect.
HBA: A few fan questions. You’re a mother of three; how do you look so stunning?
Tatiana: Once a model, always a model. It’s all about discipline and hard work – every single day – but then it becomes your lifestyle. Behind every result is hard work: If you want to achieve something, you have to work 24/7.

HBA: One of your fans shared, “I’ve followed you from the start. You offer such incredible support to everyone and are so authentic. How are you so confident and in a world of stereotypes? How do you break barriers and think outside the box?”
Tatiana: Don’t take the pictures too seriously. Sometimes, there are a lot of things happening behind the scenes. Whenever I feel a down, I feel better after receiving the support of my mother (who lives in Moscow) and my sister. Feeling the support and trust of girls who have been with VAARA from the very start, ever since I first launched instagram, is honestly so important to me as well. It’s huge. There are always two options: a victim or a winner. A winner’s journey is always a challenging, with so much jealousy and so many stop-factors from those around you; the best way to win is to follow yourself, work hard, and be faithful to yourself. Everyone is unique, stereotypes are the tool from the crowd to make you feel “average,” but you don’t have to listen. Love your body, love your soul, and get the resources from within. You are one of a kind and you can be transformative.

HBA: Where does your power come from?
Tatiana: My kids. I have a teenage daughter, and as a parent, you sometimes feel parent guilt. I know that my kids can also see that my projects are very honest. They’re about sustainability and the future-thinking women of the world. So whatever I do now, I also have in mind that I do it for my children – and that fuels me.
HBA: Lastly, do you have any advice for anyone here? People really value what you say and would love to hear some words of wisdom from you.
Tatiana: Never compare yourself to anyone. You have your life. Be grateful for what you already have and keep dreaming big. Do it by yourself.
