Here’s how Harper’s Bazaar Arabia celebrated a moment in history
It almost feels surreal that it has been just 150 years since both Bloomingdale’s brothers joined forces to open their first flagship store on what is now the iconic Third Avenue Street in New York City. I wonder if they knew then that their idea would soon become a legacy? Well, since the opening in 1872 – Bloomingdale’s has since then become a multicategory online department store and the forefront of retail. In 2010 the renowned store debuted its first-ever regional store in The Dubai Mall and later followed with its second location at 360 Mall in Kuwait in 2017.
Now, after a long-led legacy going 150 years, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia has partnered together with Bloomingdale’s for a celebration like no other – aiming to pay homage to the luxury department store and to take a moment to appreciate Bloomingdale’s illustrious history. The event itself consisted of exclusive collaborations, pop-ups and excitingly – an augmented reality NYC experience.
Its Autumn/Winter 2022 celebratory campaign strives to draw strong elements from New York City’s vibrancy, soul, art and music and to help spread the word within the region – Bloomingdale’s has hand-picked three well-known personalities that they believe represent the local culture and the future generation of market icons to come. The said trailblazers are Emirati singer – Mohammed Al Ahbabi, modest fashion specialist – Hanan Houachmi and leading fashion influencer – Fay Ezzat.
