Zaza Bajouk Is The Harper’s Bazaar Bride Summer Issue 2026 Cover Star

For Lebanese entrepreneur Zaza Bajouk, a heartfelt proposal in Paris led to a fairy-tale wedding in France – a romantic dream come true. And to complement a day of tailor-made moments, the bride wore custom Dior…

In a silk crepe dress entirely hand-embroidered by the Christian Dior Haute Couture ateliers, Lebanese beauty entrepreneur Zaza Bajouk said “I do” to her husband, a Qatari businessman. “We chose Château Challain in France because there is something about it that feels suspended in time; like a fairy tale that was already waiting to be lived in,” she exclusively tells Bazaar Bride. “France also holds a certain magic for us as a couple – it felt right to begin our marriage in a place that has always been synonymous with romance and beauty.”

The couple’s ties to the country run deep. First connecting through business, where a series of professional conversations slowly evolved into a genuine friendship and then relationship, it was in March 2025 that Paris became the backdrop to their engagement.

Whilst she was on holiday in the City of Light, her future husband surprised Zaza in her hotel room, armed with flowers, chocolates and a ring – a proposal that she says was “everything I could have dreamed of and more. As I looked at him kneeling there in front of me, I wasn’t just seeing the proposal,” she recalls, “I was seeing every act of kindness, every gesture, every moment that had revealed the depth of his love and the certainty of his intentions. In that instant, I felt completely cherished.”

Planning a wedding in a European country when you’re based in the Middle East requires “a lot of trust” says Zaza of the special day that was almost a year in the making. With a theme of ‘White Fairytale’, the reins were handed to Cameleon MGT, a boutique luxury wedding and events company, to bring Zaza’s vision to life. “They understood not just what I wanted logistically, but the feeling I wanted – the emotion behind every detail,” she explains. Château Challain was transformed into a world of pure white florals, candlelight and timeless romance. The sweeping staircase was draped in cascading clouds of white baby’s breath and roses, creating an ethereal feeling throughout.

Personalisation was present in every nuanced detail of the day, with the bride wanting the wedding “to feel like a true reflection of my own taste – romantic, feminine, timeless and infused with a vintage fairy-tale spirit.”

Naturally, that started with a custom dress by the Christian Dior Haute Couture ateliers – the most personal element of the day. “The process took nearly a year, and I was involved in every step,” Zaza explains. “I had a very clear vision of what I wanted – a gown to embody my personal style: timeless, romantic, feminine and elegant, while remaining true to the fairy-tale atmosphere of the wedding.” It was, she adds, a thorough process, taking her time with every decision, from the silhouette and proportions to the lacework and couture details.

The result, a silk crepe dress with an inner corset and balloon sleeves in tulle and Chantilly lace, entirely hand-embroidered, completed with a veil in embroidered tulle with hand-applied Chantilly lace. “After nearly a year of dedication, seeing the dress come to life was an emotional experience,” Zaza smiles. “When I wore it, it felt less like putting on a wedding dress and more like stepping into a dream I had envisioned for so long.”

To complement the gown, Zaza chose her finishing touches with immense care. A magnificent diamond choker with an extraordinary 14.4 carat emerald cut stone and diamond drop earrings by Graff paired with a wedding ring featuring a 17.8 carat emerald-cut diamond of exceptional clarity. “For me, jewellery was never simply about the diamonds themselves – every piece was chosen with intention to complement the dress and enhance the overall bridal look.”

The beauty of the day was forever in the details for this ethereal celebration. The couple arrived at the ceremony in a white horse-drawn carriage adorned with flowers, while ballerinas, dressed in white, opened the ceremony. Tables were dressed with Dior Maison pieces, “which brought an added celebration of French refinement and elegance to the wedding dinner,” and Lebanese musician Salim Assaf composed and performed an original piece exclusively as Zaza walked down the aisle. “There are truly no words for what it felt like to walk towards my husband to a song that existed only because of us. It’s something I’ll treasure forever,” she smiles.

From a wedding feast by in-residence Michelin-star chef and a showstopping ivory and white wedding cake to favours from Zaza Bajouk Cosmetics presented in engraved boxes and vows written from the heart – “nothing borrowed, nothing scripted” – it was a moment, at the end of the aisle, that holds most emotion. “Without question, the most memorable moment was when my husband saw me for the first time. It was not the château, the dress, the extraordinary setting that made that moment magical – it was simply the look we shared. Seeing him standing there waiting for me, seeing the emotion in his eyes, felt like the culmination of everything we had built together. When I think back on the wedding, that is the moment my heart returns to first.”

In a wedding in which every detail was thoughtfully created to dreamlike effect, these “quiet glances, heartfelt conversations and the joy of seeing the people we loved gathered together” all endure. “If I could change one thing,” Zaza says, “it would be to linger in those moments just a little longer. They remind me that while beautiful details create the setting, it is the memories, emotions and people you share them with that remain with you forever.”
