Celebrated Danish design house Georg Jensen has revealed its latest jewellery collection: a collaboration with the late renowned architect Zaha Hadid, which is available for pre-order at Moda Operandi from today. The exquisite collection, with its ribbon-like shapes, merges Georg Jensen’s modernist, mid-century jewellery aesthetic with Zaha’s signature architectural fluid forms.
The exclusive eight-piece jewellery collection features five rings and three cuff bangles available in sterling silver and black rhodium set with black diamonds. The innovative jewellery range takes inspiration from the Wangjing Soho building designed by Zaha Hadid in China – distinguished for the fluidity of its window lines often referenced as emanating Chinese fans and curved sails. The architectural forms of the jewellery designs construct distinct lines creating natural light and shade whilst wrapped around the hand and finger.
The historic collaboration pays tribute to Zaha’s work, with David Chu, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Georg Jensen, saying “There was always a continuity in Zaha’s work, and the same is true of this collection. Her aesthetic aligned with the history of our jewellery designs, celebrating nature’s seemingly simple yet mathematical forms.” He adds,
The creative legacy of the iconic architect’s signature style continues with this collection.
