If Ferris wheels, rollercoasters and chain swings were getting a bit too mainstream for you then you’ll delight at the announcement of Bahrain’s new theme park.
Dive Bahrain is the world’s new and largest underwater theme park that spans 100,000 square metres. But what we’re really excited about is the whole attraction centres around a sunken airplane – a Boeing 747, to be precise.
It also boasts a replica of a traditional Bahraini pearl merchant's house, plus an artificial coral reef and other marine-inspired sculptures, which will also be scattered throughout the underwater park.
The unique diving experience is in close proximity to the Bahrain International Airport and resides in the busy city of Manama, where plenty other tourist attractions can be found, like the Manama Souq.
Dive Bahrain was a development between the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE). The eco-friendly aspect of the park is also particularly important. Not only will researchers be able to collect more information on marine life, but the public will also understand the significance of preserving marine life after touring the attraction.
A record-breaking, underwater theme park that educates you on marine life and fulfils all you thrill-seekers' diving dreams? Where can we get tickets...
