Vegans, veggies and flexitarians look away now – on arrival at Monaco import Beefbar, you’ll be greeted with (before the friendly staff) a library of meat, from premium cuts of Kobe beef to succulent slabs of sirloin and aged Australian black Angus steak. Yes, we’re talking serious meat here - with a side of Lady Gaga’s 2010 MTV Music Awards dress.
The Al Fattan Currency House-based restaurant itself is luxurious and laid back. The space is split in two - a laid back lounge and a more formal restaurant space – with interiors that are imbued with chic leather trimmings and dim black-and-white details.
So what was Bazaar’s pick off the menu? Well, naturally, beef takes the limelight here. We kick off with a round of Kobe beef and Black Angus skirt tacos with habanero chili, Kobe mini burgers with truffle and jalapeño, and Kobe shawarma off the The 'Dubai street food' starters – a nice little localised touch.
Moving on to mains, Bazaar enjoyed a fine cut of Chateaubriand, with a generous side serving of truffle mash and spinach. The steaks don’t come with any sauces or condiments, but with such an explosion of flavour coming from the accompanying dishes, you’ll hardly even notice.
The food exudes quality, the service was beyond reproach and the swanky location makes for the perfect pre-dinner drink cocktails, or an equally great spot to continue enjoying a five-star evening.
