Tacos and cocktails are a winning combination. And this is certainly true at Mina Al Salam where Tortuga Mexican Kitchen presides.
Set on the edge of the five-star hotel’s private canal, order a round of margaritas and loaded nachos whilst browsing a menu that reads like a panoply of punchy flavours and taking in the oh so scenic view.
For starters we recommend ordering a plethora of light-bites to be shared around the table. The guac is sensational, and freshly-made at your table.
Other must-not-miss dishes are the king prawns, salmon ceviche and chorizo molcajete queso fundido (a cheesy chorizo explosion, to you and I, and BAZAAR’s favourite dish on the menu).
You simply can’t go down any other route than an assortment of fajitas and tacos for mains, followed in quick succession by the churros, which we swiftly dunked in a pool of chocolate sauce.
Tortuga makes for the perfect low-key date night or casual and delicious dinner, but we hear that the atmosphere gets amped up a few watts for Friday brunch, so that might just be where you find us next weekend.
