Sprawling Suites, Destination Dining and A Dior Spa Ensures Perfect Pampering At The Lana
Enjoy the perfect staycation and escape to luxurious rooms with a breathtaking view of Marasi Bay Marina at this Dorchester Collection property
Rooted in gleaming vistas, as if emerging from the waters of Marasi Bay Marina, the latest alumni of the Dorchester Collection floats over the downtown hustle and bustle. An ivory tower in a city that already embodies one. The Lana – Dorchester Collection, Dubai, certainly lives up to the decades-old pampering precedents set by its predecessors.
Home to 225 rooms and suites and three event venues, including a ballroom, curated by bespoke interior design duo Gilles & Boissier, the hotel combines classic French elegance with Dubai’s local spirit – which is to say: views, views, views. When it comes to visibility, no room is left behind – high ceilings and even higher windows make worldly spaces seem down to earth, like a piece of sky is in your living room because the walls are made of floor-to-ceiling glass.

The property’s booking team guides every guest to their perfect accommodation – offering a variety of destinations amidst Royal Suites, Marina Junior Suites and Marina Sky Rooms – each with private balconies and exclusive family suites connecting two rooms with special gifts for the little ones with breakfast-in-bed services.
Enjoy a cup of afternoon tea after checking in at The Gallery, just across from the lobby – though you’ll probably hear the live piano first, and then notice the servers dressed in charming maroon suits are walking on clouds, that, upon further inspection, is actually just really good marble. From one to six pm, as per reservation of course, pair a smoky wash of Lapsang Souchong, aged Pu Erh or ceremonial grade matcha with finger sandwiches and a selection of pastries by chef, Angelo Musa, who also runs his eponymous cafe, BonBon, at the hotel. Angelo, who in 2007 won the internationally coveted Meilleur Ouvrier de France, prepares fresh French pastries and traditional café fare on a daily basis.

For a date-night during your staycation, The Riviera Restaurant by Jean Imbert, will take you to the south of France with authentic plates of sea bass carpaccio and côte de boeuf – Business Bay might as well be the Mediterranean. Chef Jean Imbert also runs the al fresco style rooftop lounge, High Society. Known for its 360 degree infinity pool views of the Burj Khalifa and endless skylines, the vibe tends to peak at night when the sun sets and people dance around drinks and crudo plates.
The Dior Spa very well deserves its own article – on the 29ᵗʰ floor where the Dorchester Collection’s culture of care and Dior’s timeless beauty converge in a moveable feast of facials, body treatments, scrubs and nail care, most acclaimed of which being their Diorituals. Experience Escale, a Japanese-inspired whole body massage, incorporating pressure and friction to release the mind and muscles – all while lying down on a futon. The team emphasises bespoke treatments to suit each body’s needs. It’s an in-house retreat with a gym.
The Lana – Dorchester Collection, Dubai doesn’t just make life easy, the Lana makes life happen – one luxurious step at a time.
