With more and more people planning their next holiday via Pinterest (+37% since December last year to be exact) the social media network has paired up with AirBnb to offer travellers a carefully curated selection of places to stay in the top trending destinations around the world. From Iceland to Santorini, here are some of the most delectable homes you can rest your head during your next vacation—minus the exorbitant price tag.
Scottish Highlands: If you can brace yourself against the cold, the Scottish Highlands offers some impeccable vistas.
Courchevel, France: Apparently Courchevel in France is where everyone will be skiing next season.
Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt: Travellers might be shunning Cairo, but they’re apparently interested in what Egypt’s coastline has to offer – an abundance of snorkelling and crystal clear waters.
Santorini, Greece: Unsurprisingly, this Greek Island is still popular among honeymooners. It boasts an array of expensive hotels, with AirBnb providing Instagram-worthy options such as this one for the more budget-conscious traveller.
Barcelona, Spain: The perfect antidote to those winter blues, Barcelona offers never-ending nightlife and hours of sunshine.
Tenerife, Canary Islands: According to AirBnb, it’s just a quick walk to the beach from this cottage in the Canary Islands.
New York City: Considering this is the city that never sleeps and that’s all that Sydney seems to do these days, New York is the best option for those wanting to continue the party.
Bora, Bora Polynesia: While over-water bungalows might be all the rage amongst the celebrities, AirBnb recommends relaxing on the deck of these colourful offerings.
Kyoto, Japan: For a dose of Japanese history and culture, Kyoto is the place to be. Imagine staying somewhere like this?
Reykjavik, Iceland: This cold-climate country is still on fire in terms of popularity.
