We might not hear the Queen's personal review of her grandson Prince Harry's wedding to Meghan Markle, but Victoria Beckham's recap is just as good. The Spice Girl-turned-designer raved about the royal nuptials in a new interview to Evening Standard.
“It was such a beautiful, incredible wedding," Beckham gushed. "It was just the best day. They looked so happy, and everybody was just so happy for them. Meghan seems like a genuinely lovely woman, who really loves him. It felt very real, very honest.”
Beckham also had high praise for the Duchess of Sussex's custom Givenchy wedding dress. "I thought she looked absolutely beautiful," she said. "It really suited her. I thought it was perfect for her. And Harry looked great."
In February, it was reported that Markle had befriended the designer and was picking her brain for advice about assembling professional (and royal) wardrobe. It seems like she took some of her style tips to heart when picking out her bridal look, too.
As for her own outfit at the wedding, Beckham opted for one of her original designs—but it was highly reminiscent of the deep blue ensemble she wore to Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding in 2011. "I love a bit of navy," she explained.
The biggest difference is that this time around, she wasn't with child. “Quite honestly, it was such a relief not to be hugely pregnant at this royal wedding that it was a joy to be able to choose anything I wanted to wear," she joked.
Beckham said she wasn't nervous for the ceremony—and she didn't look it, considering the smize she wore during her entrance. "I was just really honored to have been invited," she said. "I would have been nervous if it had been my day.”
The one thing she couldn't share details about? That super-private reception. When asked for intel about the nighttime celebration, Posh simply replied, "I can't say."
