Presidents, CEOs, royalty and industry leaders came together for the seventh World Government Summit (WGS), a three-day event at Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah that highlights the future of governments worldwide. The summit saw over 600 speakers – including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s hologram.

Cementing the UAE’s position as a leading country in futuristic innovations, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council delivered a virtual speech to thousands in attendance. “We have a continuous goal to be at least 10 years more advanced,” he rather aptly said on stage.

“Today, I utilised hologram technology to address the audience at the #WorldGovSummit on the topic of '7 Shifts Shaping Future Cities',” HRH – also known on social media as Fazza - wrote on Twitter. “Anticipating future shifts & challenges, we need to harness the power of innovation & creativity to set standards for smart cities.”

“World cities consider Dubai as a model for future cities. We are working hard to realise the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed to place Dubai 10 years ahead of other cities. Concerted efforts are required from gov’t & private entities to make Dubai the world's No. 1 city.”
