Beyoncé has joined the countless citizens saying thank you to the now-former President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama. The singer, a known friend of the couple, took to Instagram to show her gratitude with a simple, yet adorable photo of the pair. She captioned the shot with a simple "Thank you."

Thank you.

She isn't the only A-lister making heartfelt tributes to the duo; a long list of celebs including Rihanna, Olivia Wilde and Jessica Chastain have done the same. And while many are sending thanks to the former first couple on Inauguration Day today, Bey's shoutout is especially touching, since she's been a trusted inaugural performer for the Obamas ever since he was first sworn into office.

She sang "America the Beautiful" for Obama's inaugural concert in 2009:

She serenaded the First Couple during their first dance at the 2009 Inaugural Ball with "At Last" by Etta James:

And she performed the national anthem for his inauguration in 2013:

After Beyoncé's made several visits to the White House under Obama's two terms, Michelle opened up about what it's like being close with the pop star.

"She's a sweetheart," she told Stephen Colbert. "She's smart, she's creative, she's a great mother, she loves her family. She's just a low-key lady. So we have a lot in common in that way—except I cant sing, I can't dance."

Maybe now that she's out of the White House, Michelle and Bey (and Barack and Jay Z) can spend more time together.
