It’s no secret that Kate Middleton is one of the most stylish royals in the world. Her impeccable, effortless style is constantly replicated by women around the world but nothing gets us more excited when the down-to-earth Duchess embraces her royal stature because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a modern-day princess?

Last night, Kate Middleton dazzled as she opted to wear one of Princess Diana’s favourite tiaras for the Queen’s Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace. The Lover’s Knot Tiara, designed by the House of Garrard, was originally made for Queen Mary in 1913 and was a wedding gift for Diana when she married Charles in 1981. The Duchess of Cambridge paired the iconic headpiece with a Nizam of Hyderabad diamond necklace worth around Dhs340 million, which was gifted to Queen Elizabeth when she was a young princess in 1947 by Asaf Jah VII.

The Duchess completed the look with sparkling chandelier earrings, the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order and an elegant full length midnight blue velvet gown from Alexander McQueen. We couldn’t think of a more glamourous look for the future Queen of England.
