The aspiring lawyer and former cover star wowed us in a surprise appearance at the White House on Thursday...

Kim Kardashian has partnered up with ride-share company Lyft to reduce unemployment rates for former prisoners. The idea is to provide gift cards that will allow former prisoners to get to and from to their job interviews, work and the homes of their loved ones.

She revealed her plan during a surprise appearance at a White House event on Thursday, saying she always “wanted to make a difference and wanted to do the right thing but didn't know how or what to do." Ambitious nonetheless, she followed her passion, tweeting her excitement on her way to the White House.

Kim began her criminal reform journey when she came across the case of 63-year-old Alice Marie Johnson on social media, who was in prison for life following a nonviolent drug conviction. She brought the case to Trump's attention and shortly after, Johnson was free.

After visiting several prisons, Kim began a law course in Cali  and in last month's Vogue issue announced her plans to become a lawyer. "My heart just completely opened up and I wanted to do more," Kim said during her speech at the White House. Ivanka Trump posted a tweet thanking Kim for her passion.

With the unemployment rate for five million former prisoners in the States 27 per cent last year, the former cover star is taking matters into her own hands with a burning passion for criminal justice reform in the United States - and we can't wait for what she has planned next.
