It’s no secret that Taylor Swift is the queen of incredible parties. Having now abandoned her infamous annual Fourth of July party, it seems the songstress has turned her attentions to New Year's Eve.
Ushing in a new era of swanky Swift soirées, her New Year's Eve costume party to celebrate the end of 2018 was on a totally different kind of level.
The “Shake it off” singer’s adorably themed Childhood Heroes soirée, and saw in 2019 with her dressed at Ariel from the Disney classic The Little Mermaid alongside her nearest and dearest –not to mention her infamous girl gang, who were out in full force in an array of simply genius outfits.
Former Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds were among the throngs of celebrity guests, with Blake dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. But it was model Gigi Hadid who really stole the show with her uncanny Mary Poppins costume. We dare say the epic East Coast bash will be providing us with fancy-dress inspiration for many years to come.
Swift’s Instagram post detailed everyone’s inspirations behind their outfits as she wrote; "Mary Poppins, Audrey, Ariel, Ms. Frizzle, Cinderella, Gwen, Mr. Toad, Avril, Nancy Drew, Posh Spice, Rizzo, Frida Kahlo, Steve Irwin, Dorothy.. This new year we decided to dress up as our childhood heroes. Sending you all love and hope going into 2019."
And if that wasn’t enough to reinstate our love for the pop’s ever evolving princess, New Year's Eve was also the release of Reputation concert film on Netflix, much to the joy of Taylor’s fans around the world. We can’t wait to see what 2019 holds for her, and let’s face it, what the theme of her next envy-inducing New Year’s Eve celebration will be!
