...before the designer of this regional brand came to her rescue!

After spending a day at the F1 racetrack in Abu Dhabi, Girls Trip actress and American comedienne Tiffany Haddish narrowly avoided what you might classify as a fashion 'faux pas'. Following a day at the races, she didn't have time to get glammed up for a fancy dinner at Café Milano at the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi - but luckily, the designer of one of our fav regional brands, SemSem, was there to save the day.

She posted a photo on Instagram wearing one of their designs while sandwiched between fellow comedians Chris Tucker and Dave Chapelle, explaining the *situation* that went down: "Having a Great time in Abu Dhabi at a fancy dinner with @chappelledave @christucker and @luxurylaw. But let me tell you. I went to the race track today and didn't have time to go back to my hotel and change. I was feeling so bad because everyone was dressed so nice and I wasn't."

Everyone knows what it feels like to be in this situation: you show up to an event startlingly under-dressed, replaying in your mind again and again if you missed the part of the invite that mentioned it was a black tie affair. Most of us, however, don't have the designer of SemSem, Alby Riganello, there to save the day.

The caption continues: "Then I started talking to my new best friend @albynyc and he was like I got a Dress in my bag and he pull out this beautiful @semsem dress and saves the day! @albynyc is my new Hero! I love when men save the day #HEREADY so #SHEREADY."

Haddish was attending SemSem's annual dinner in Abu Dhabi. This year the invite list was stacked with familiar faces including Olivia Palermo, influencer Brittany Xavier, and Harper's Bazaar U.S. editor Chrissy Rutherford.

After swapping fits and presumably eating that fancy dinner, according to SemSem's Insta stories Haddish took the mic and turned the soiree into her own impromptu concert. Naturally, the crowd was eating it up - as would we.
