As if the Business and First Class services offered by Emirates aren’t luxe enough, the airline is reportedly working on a home check-in service where Emriates staff actually collect your luggage from your home.
The Dubai-based airline has not officially verified claims, but according to media reports, a member of Emirates staff will turn up at your house, scan your passport, tag your luggage and give you a boarding pass.
It seems that the claims stem from a video uploaded to YouTube that shows a Transguard van (part of Emirates Group) with an Emirates check-in counter in the back.
A spokesperson for Emirates didn’t confirm or deny if trials were ongoing, however they did give Harper’s Bazaar Arabia this statement:
"At Emirates, we continually invest in innovative ways to improve the customer experience. At the moment we are trialling several initiatives to provide greater convenience for our customers and will share details when they become available.”
If reports of a trial are true (please tell us they are!), then it’s going to make it a lot easier to take too many outfit changes on holiday.
