“True beauty reflects from within. The way you treat yourself, your body and mind, and the time and effort you spend replenishing and nourishing yourself makes you radiate from inside. Apart from that a good shoe and distinct accessories can take any look to amazing,” Nardine Farag tells Bazaar on the mantra she lives her life by. “I received this advice from a friend and will always pass this down.”

An actress and TV presenter – whose repertoire of shows includes ET Bil Arabi, Arabs Got Talent and The Voice – Nardine spends her life in the spotlight. “I love to experiment with styles and trends that represent my personality, while at the same time make me feel truly unique,” she says.

Her personal style is “Parisian chic,” and while she likes to stay up to date with the latest trends, Nardine also professes to like “solid, bold colours with a twist,” and pieces which have a bit of an edge.” Her wardrobe consists of a mix of brands, but the thing she most loves to collect is accessories. “I have plenty of Lanvin pieces. I’m always in love with the stuff as it reflects my personality very much,” she enthuses. “And Gianvito Rossi shoes – I just love them. I wear them on stage because they look extremely fashionable and are very comfortable at the same time.”
When it comes to ready to wear, Balmain jackets have proved a trusty staple, “I have a couple of them, they’re classic and never go out of style,” she says, adding that it’s the “quality and construction” that really makes them timeless. She also cites Giambattista Valli and Oscar de la Renta as steadfast favourites, while Redemption and Faith Connexion are new on her radar for this season.

With glamour being a prerequisite of the job, Nardine admits, “my biggest challenge is actually my hair. It becomes very tired and damaged, so I struggle to make it look healthy and presentable.” Her stage wardrobe is quite the opposite, which Nardine manages with aplomb. She recalls her favourite outfit of late, “I wore it on the final episode of The Voice. It was a Toni Maticevski dress that I fell in love with the moment I laid eyes on it.” The dress she is referring to was a stunning, long white structured dress with artisanal origami-like folds in the fabric.

When Nardine isn’t turning on her charisma for the cameras, she likes to enjoy time with family and friends. The mother of two girls (Mia, 15, and Dana, 13) enjoys getting out of Dubai and exploring. “I love travelling and exploring new places and learning about their cultures. My husband, Karim, and I are keen on making our daughters visit new places and meet new people.”

She also loves going back to Egypt, too, visiting her favourite shop, HIP, and restaurant Pier 88 – “I love the place because the view is outstanding; it’s by the Nile and it overlooks beautiful Cairo.”

Nardine Farag wears Sacai jacket, Saint Laurent T-shirt and 3.1 Phillip Lim trousers, all at Bloomingdale’s – Dubai. Stuart Weitzman shoes. De Grisogono jewellery.
