Watch | Bazaar Beauty: How To Achieve Big, Bold, Blue Eyeliner

It's official, summer is coming. BAZAAR linked up Dubai-based influencer and Marc Jacobs beauty ambassador, Rhea Jacobs to put together a blue eyeliner look that will keep you cool as ice whilst the temperatures climb

For a one-on-one five-minute summer beauty routine, global artistry ambassador for Marc Jacobs Beauty and celebrity make-up artist Morgane Martini showed us exactly how to get fresh, dewy skin with a little a pop of colour, just in time for summer.

Morgane starts off by expressing how important it is to moisturise, and how important it is to remember your neck should be included in the process too. Using the brand-new Marc Jacobs Beauty Youthquake Hydra-Full Retexturising Gel Crème - the brand’s first ever skincare product -Morgane shares that moisturising is “the step zero, this is really what you’re going to start applying before you do anything else”.

After massaging a few dots of the enzyme-rich gel crème into the skin, Morgane uses the Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick in shade 39 on Rhea’s skin instead of foundation. A lighter-weight coverage is perfect for summer and the stick concealer (made with snow mushrooms – yes, mushrooms…) creates a seamless blend atop the face, giving it that totally natural look.

Promising that you can still build up a medium to high coverage, the global artistry ambassador for MJB says it’s says it’s just as good to use your fingers for blending or if you would prefer a sponge, that’s fine too. But for Rhea, she opts to use the Face II brush (she claims as one of her fave’s) to blend the stripes together into one creamy, non-cakey and hydrated look.

After some under-eye illumination and mattifying using the new Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder in shade 'Muse', Morgane moves onto the funky blue eyeliner. There’s no-blend-necessary at this stage of events, as the aim is to achieve a strong look. Advising to keep the eye open when drawing the winged eyeliner (in shade 'Out of the Blue') onto the lid for a better measure, Morgane touches up with 'Orange Crush' on the inner corner in the bottom of Rhea’s eyes for subtlety and a dash of 'Deja Blue' on the waterline.

Using the Velvet Primer to define and lengthen the lashes before mascara, Morgane finishes off the fresh look with a few Dew Drops and a lick of the Enamoured Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick in shade 'One Mauve'. The vitamin-packed rich kahai oil features in this on-the-go, non-sticky formula, which also has a creamy minty scent, helping to protect, moisturize and soften lips.

The result: “Oh Wow, That colour is everything!”
