To celebrate Saudi National Day, regional songstress, hailing from the Kingdom, performs a rendition of Rashed AlMajid's Peace Be Upon You.

I live in Los Angeles, I moved here to fulfill a dream and I love my life here, but I miss home every day,” Rotana tells BAZAAR. “I miss my language and the smell of Arabic coffee in the morning. I miss the sounds of our culture so creating this song was a way to feel closer to home.”

Originally created in 1998 and performed by Rashed AlMajid for the Saudi national football team, the tune is a heartfelt message to the people of KSA. Lyrics like ‘home of good-natured people’ and ‘we witness that you are authentic and good hearted’ are sung throughout.

“Saudi National Day is a celebration of people,” says Rotana. “Our culture is a treasure and I can't wait for the world to learn more about us through our stories. Saudi Arabia is in an incredible movement of growth.”

And so, to celebrate the Kingdom’s 89th year, Rotana performs a rendition of the song, exclusively for BAZAAR.
