One plot twist after another, OVO Fest will be back on for this year’s festival-filled season. After testing positive- then negative shortly after- Drake has announced the rescheduled date for the music-fest, now due to take place this Saturday, August 6th.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday night to relieve OVO fanatics, Drake wrote “Negative test…positive outcome…this was the only date available until the fall and because the family is so solid everybody is flying back in to make it happen for you all…SEE YOU SATURDAY…young moulaaa.”

If there’s anyone who knows how to organise a music festival, it’s none other than the Canadian rapper himself. And, after two long years, the much-anticipated festival is finally back.

What is OVO fest?
Every year, Canadian artist Drake holds a three-day-short music festival and invites notable celebrities to perform in Toronto. This however was before the pandemic threw a wrench in those plans. Fast forward to 2022, the fest has finally resurrected and here is the breakdown of what to expect.
This 2022 edition will be the 10th iteration of the October World Weekend; the science behind the name is simply that Drake (also known as champagnepapi) is an October baby!
In the past we’ve seen popular sensations perform like Rihanna, The Weeknd, Eminem and Cardi B but this year Drake paves the way for Canadian Hip Hop Royalty; one night of absolute musical extravaganza performed by the city’s very own.
Who Will Perform At OVO Fest 2022?
With trailblazing performances every year, there’s no reason to suspect why this year would be any different. All Canadian North Stars will feature appearances including Choclair , Jully Black, Kardinal Offishall, Keshia Shante and Maestro Fresh Wes.
Others include Glenn Lewis, Shawn Desman, Frank-N-Dank, Saukrates, Vancouver rappers Rascalz and the R&B group In Essence. These stars performed exhilarating sets yesterday at the History, Toronto.
The Thursday show beckons in what Drake calls the October World Weekend: Road to OVO Fest Tour, which moves to Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on Friday. This concert features performances by distinguished creatives like Chris Brown and Lil Baby.
On Saturday, August 6, Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne ; renowned names that will draw major masses to the fest will perform a reunion of acts on the Young Money record label.
