Designers From Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and The UAE Are Amongst This Year’s Fashion Trust Arabia Finalists
The non-profit organisation honours emerging talent from the region with its annual awards; Bazaar shares the full list of 2021’s finalists here
If there was ever a time in history where emerging designers and brand needed support and guidance, it was now. Arguably, 2020 was one of the most difficult years in recent history for small business, let alone those trying to thrive in the fashion– already a notoriously difficult industry to “make it” in, even without the COVID-19 pandemic and the knock-off effects its had on economies around the world. Going into 2021, however, things are looking much more hopeful, especially for 24 emerging creatives from the MENA region.

Fashion Trust Arabia – a non-profit oganisation that works to scout, support and nurture growing MENA talent – has just unveiled the finalist list for its 2021 awards, as it gears up to present six designers with the title of winner across five different categories, plus one brand new Unique Edition Award division, which this year will highlight Columbian talent and designers.

“We received a record number of over 800 applications and had an immense pool of talent this year. We feel that designers and businesses need assistance now more than ever. I wish all the amazing finalists the best of lucky, they are all exceptionally talented,” says Tania Fares, Fashion Trust Arabia’s founder and co-chair.

While the final jury members have yet to be revealed this year’s Fashion Trust Arabia board included some of the most respected professionals within the industry including Hamish Bowles, Gabriela Hearst, Nina Garcia and Law Roach, to name a few.
The finalists will present their work to the trust on March 25, 2021.
