7 Of The Most Striking Make-Up Looks From The 2024 Met Gala
From bold to fresh-faced, Bazaar Arabia brings you the best glam seen on this year’s red carpet
As the stars aligned on the evening of May 6 for another mesmerising night of haute couture, the Met Gala 2024 emerged as not only a celebration of avant-garde fashion, but also a stage for incredible works of make-up artistry to be displayed.
The Costume Institute’s latest exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion was unveiled and celebrities walked the red carpet set against the enchanting theme of Garden of Time.
The iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art served as a canvas for celebrities, designers, and make-up maestros to showcase their creativity and vision.
From intricate floral-inspired eyeshadow to bold hues, make-up became an integral part of the ensembles, weaving together elements of fantasy and refinement.
Moreover, this year, the work of a Dubai-based artist also made for the subject of photographers at the coveted event.
Nina Ubhi worked her magic on Sudha Reddy, an Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist who attended.

Speaking to Bazaar Arabia, Nina detailed what goes into deciding the look, its execution, as well as what to keep in mind when working on a face specifically for a red carpet.
The artist, who has worked in the industry for two decades and boasts a client list teaming with celebrities and royals, said that Sudha’s look was a “team effort” between her, the designer, and the stylist.
Sudha went with make-up with subtle hints of pink and peach to compliment the ensemble which was created by renowned Indian couturier Tarun Tahiliani.
Nina said, “It was a nod towards the floral side of the theme. I didn’t want overly smoky eyes. I wanted to play on her features and consider the dress.”
Speaking on the process of working with a client, she said, “As part of what I do, it’s really important to me to ensure that the look is tailored to the star’s personality.”
After a joint discussion, Nina went with a semi-dewy base, matte lipstick and matte eyeshadow.
