Miss Philippines 2024: Dubai-Based Designers Dominated The Stage
Contestants took the stage in dazzling creations by renowned Dubai-based Filipino couturiers
Miss Universe Philippines was announced on May 22 in a dazzling ceremony that took place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila.
During the ceremony, 53 contestants competed and 24-year-old Chelsea Manalo was crowned the winner, earning the spot to represent the her country at the upcoming Miss Universe 2024 pageant.

The night was also a major win for UAE-based Filipino designers as two of the contestants were seen wearing pieces by Michael Cinco and Furne One, who owns Amato Couture.

The second runner-up of the competition, Ma Ahtisa Manalo, walked the stage in a sparkling red off-shoulder gown with exaggerated sleeves by Micheal.
Ma also chose a glittering one-shoulder white gown with a slit by the same couturier during the preliminaries held a day earlier.

Victoria Velasquez Vincent, another beauty queen to reach the coveted top 10 list, also sported two Amato Couture looks.
The first ensemble, which appeared during the preliminary rounds, featured a light blue gown with crystal embellishments. While the for the evening, Victoria chose a bold red figure-hugging high-neck dress paired with a bun.

This is not the first time that works by the designers have graced the Miss Universe stage. In 2021, Michael Cinco created a dress worn by Miss USA in the evening gown segment of the pageant. During the 2022 competition, Miss Universe Bahrain, Evlin Khalifa, sported an ensemble by Amato Couture.
This year’s Miss Universe 2024 event is set to take place in Mexico.
