Why Did John Galliano Delete His Instagram Feed?
Does this signify a fresh start? Here’s what we know…
John Galliano appears to have recently deleted his whole Instagram feed, removing years’ worth of pictures from his grid. In the now-white (or black, depending on your app’s settings) void of his once populated feed, one question emerges: what does this mean?
Removing one’s Instagram feed could point to retirement — though when it comes to influence, it’s tough to say that Galliano’s illustrious career and eccentric character can ever retire itself, as his body of work continues to inspire through dozens of Instagram fan pages that feature photographs from his Dior days and backstage interviews, YouTube video essays and documentaries about his life, including Kevin Macdonald’s High & Low: John Galliano released last year.
Why Did John Galliano Delete His Instagram Feed?
The designer has not issued a statement as to why he has removed his entire feed from his account.
For now, there is only speculation.
There’s a rumour Galliano may turn to Chanel, ever since fellow contemporary Virginie Viard left her position as Creative Director earlier this month.
This could be Galliano’s way of starting over, again. He turns 64 in four months. He’s been directing Maison Margiela for a decade now. What’s next? Only time will tell.
John Galliano is still very much online. And with so many stars with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Bad Bunny and Zendaya wearing his looks at this year’s Met Gala, it’s safe to say he’s trending again.
