Why Did Salama Mohamed and Khalid Al Ameri Get Divorced?
The Emirati content creator-turned-entrepreneur shared a cryptic statement towards the end of her interview with Nour Aldin yesterday
On June 29, Emirati social media star Salama Mohamed confirmed that she and her former husband, influencer Khalid Al Ameri, were divorced.
The mother-of-two made the revelation during a sit down interview with Emirati presenter Nour Aldin.
Nour asked the founder of the skincare line Peacefull, “You are now separated, or can I say divorced?” To which Salama replied, “Divorced.”
Why Did Salama Mohamed and Khalid Al Ameri Get Divorced?
While Salama didn’t go into the exact reasons behind the split, she shared how she currently feels towards her former husband.
She said, “[…] with my previous partner, he is the father of my kids, there’s always a connection there, maybe an ethereal connection. Maybe it’s the time that we spent together, I don’t exactly know. But in the end, his happiness affects my happiness. His success affects my success. His sadness affects my sadness. I always pray for him.”
She added, “With all of my heart, I pray for him with love. With happiness because if he is happy, we are happy. At the end of the day, if he is happy, my kids would be happy. I don’t know if he reached the same stage of happiness as me.”
Salama also touched upon how she feels about the divorce, after Nour asked, “When have you felt the most safety in your life?”
To which she replied, “This year, 2024.” Adding, “The day I got divorced.”
Speaking about what the split has taught her, she said, “That sometimes divorce is merciful. I was reborn on that day.”
The interview comes after her former husband and social media star, Khalid seemingly announced his engagement by posting a black and white photograph of himself holding his bride-to-be’s hand.
Expressing gratitude for the moment, Khalid captioned the picture, “Alhumdulilah,” which translates to “thank God” in Arabic.
